What are my chances of getting accepted to Cockrell School of Engineering at UT Austin?

(Petroleum Engineering)
*I have a 27 ACT composite (English: 30, Math: 27, Reading: 26, Science: 24)
*Enrolled in NHS, Band, UIL (NHS officer and section leader in Band) (Some community service)
*Top 1.5% of my class (5/ about 400)
*Enrolled only in Pre-AP & AP classes (Passed 4 AP Exams)
*GPA: 3.93 (unweighted)
*(Texas resident with Mexican background)
(Also, can anyone tell me some scholarships that I could receive?)

You will be admitted to UT Austin by automatic admission but not likely to the engineering school. Even if you do, you would not survive easily with a poor math score.

So you suggest I raise my math score? (I didn’t actually study for the test)

I’m unsure about scores, but I (living in Austin, TX right now) do know of several people who have made it in to the school of engineering recently. All of them seemed to have qualifications similar to yours, although I don’t know the specifics. If you aren’t attempting to be admitted into an honors program, you should be fine. How are your SAT scores, or have you taken the test yet? If I recall correctly, SAT scores are required for automatic admission.

No, I haven’t taken it yet
