What are my chances of getting admission to UCB/Stanford/MIT/UCLA/UCR

First of all, I know I am a year younger than everyone else so maybe I will have to wait for a year to get into any college.

Here are my grades and achievements:

Class X-96% ICSE
Class XII-97% ISC

I have won debates in inter-state competitions, I've won prizes for extempore and I've also completed course from EdX with 95%.

I want to apply to CS major and my sat result is- 2320/2400

I have won certificates for drawing competitions, singing competition and for playing electric guitar.

I know beyond academics, I only have 12 certificates, so what are my chances of getting in?

I’m also applying to GTech

Wow, your stats are incredible!

My main problem is that my class IX grades weren’t that well. I screwed up my exams and anyhow managed to get 78%. That isn’t satisfactory :(. Although I did work hard in class X.

But you improved your performance in the further class. An upward trend in the grades impresses the Adcoms. Don’t worry, you’ll be fine. And how were your Class XI grades?

96%

My grades didn’t go down after class X.

Your stat’s are good . Your EC’s are too! Your SAT is also good! Your passion?

Playing guitar and programming.

Write impressive essays! Have you given SAT Subject Tests yet? They are also very important.

If you take Main Sat test, you don’t need sat subject tests

UCB EECS and MIT needs it. These will boost your chances as it will show your subject proficiency . The colleges you listed above also recommend it.

If you take sat proficiency test, you don’t need subject test, my sister is in MIT, trust me.

Is it true ??? Your sister is in MIT! She must be awesome!

It is her last year there. Maybe rules have changed overtime.

That depends on the school. You need to check individual websites. Schools that require SAT IIs (subject tests) may accept the ACT instead of them, but not the SAT I (reasoning)–they go together. It’s a requirement.

So that means I’ll have to take the subject tests too, okay I don’t mind.

Yes SAT Reasoning with 2 SAT Subject Tests ( Math 2 and other in Phy or Chem)

I presume that you don’t require financial aid.
Since you have 1 year to go, you can do some volunteer work, obtain an internship, and improve your extracurriculars.
No. of certificates don’t matter too much; What you have done in an activity matters.

Thanks for the information :)
