I just received my latest SAT score, which was 1810. I also have of a GPA of 95/100. However, I barely have any activities and volunteer services during the past few year. I took few AP and honor courses, which were not many. I favor Penn State because its a great engineering college for someone like me want major in chemical engineering and want to go somewhere close to home.
I would really appreciate any commonds for me. Thanks.

First, are you a PA resident? 1810 is not a bad SAT score by any means, especially for PSU main. I’m not familiar with your GPA system but It seems good. Most people who are lacking on activities are just not realizing that they actually have done things that are meaningful, but can’t recall it. For example, when filling out the activities page on one of my apps I felt very lacking, but had an epiphany of working with a campaign for a local judge my freshmen year. Activities do not necessarily mean you are a member of X club with X amount of hours X days a week. The only real problem I’m finding with your statement is your interest in major. Engineering applicants are very competitive especially for freshmen attending the main campus of a university. What are your math/science classes like and grades you have received in them? Good SAT subject tests in Math/Chem may help you stick out as an applicant.

Yes. I am a PA resident. The highest math course i am taking it now is pre-calculus as a senior, unfortunately i couldnt take the calculus in my senior year. The science courses now im taking are AP chemistry and physic. i think now is too late for me to take the SAT subject test. Do u have other collge that u think fit me well?

@Snaccc Most of my peers that attend PSU main as a freshman have taken the most rigorous courses our school offers and have scored 2000+ on the SAT. I’m not saying your chances are worthless, just not great… especially for your major. I don’t know what side of the state you live on but I think you would be a great match for Pitt or Duquesne If you have your heart set on a PA school.

Thanks. Really appreciate. I think ill find some alternative colleges.
