What are my chances of getting into Brown?

I am a junior and i absolutley love Brown. I think I’ve made up my mind that I want to go there and I just want some feedback on my stats…

please be honest, yet respectful

I go to Hunter College High School in NYC (a magnet school)

I am currently takin 11th grade honors Math, 11th grade english, U.S. history, Physics, AP Chemistry

Next year, I plan to take: Ap Biology, AP English Language and Composition, AP Psychology, AP Calculus AB and AP Studio Art. I’m also planning to do a biology internship for a teacher

My GPA: Here is my main problem. I was REALLY REALLY bad in 9th grade and so it affected my gpa tremendously. In 9th grade, my year’s average was a C. However, i worked hard and raisied it to an A-/A 10th grade and am currently averaging A-/A junior year. I ask at the infomation session at brown and they said they look at progress in grades as well. Because of 9th grade, my GPA is around a B+

ranking: no ranking in our school

Test Scores:
SAT II Biology-E (700)
SAT II Chemistry (680 - retaking it, practice tests show 740)
SAT II MATH IIC (going to take it, practice tests show 750)
SAT II US HISTORY (going to take it, practice tests show 750)

SAT I: 670 Math, 660 Critical Reading, 670 Writing

What’s unique about me?
I am really into art

teacer recs:
found two really great teachers who’d be happy to write me one

counselor recs:
my counselor really really likes me

essay: i have a very very interesting background and life and with the help of a good editor and counselor, could write a pretty good essay

interview: im extremley social and confident

ahhh, you sound exactly like me, its almost scary hah...yeah, I think I'm falling in love with Brown as well as a few other schools... well the main difference is your interest in art -- drawing, painting and I'm involved in photography (for 5years now), and community service & various other school activities. But our academics our the same ! I know this doesnt answer your question but I just had to respond !

Hmm, it seems you have the ECs and everything, but not the grades. A B+ average for Brown is quite low. Because of that, I am going to say Brown is a big reach for you. However, dont lose hope. An upward trend is always a good thing to show. Also if you could get your SATs to a 2200+ that might help the whole GPA situation.

yea, im definitley going to try =/

oh and im also going to italy during the summer to study art

and the either the mary walsh art camp (im hearing from them in may-they choose 60 kids from the nation) OR brown summer school (enrolled in figue drawing) - cant do both cus theyre on the same 2 weeks

no offense, but ur chances are little to none

Hey. You NEVER know. I got into a top LAC with a 1250/800 on my SATS and transferred to Brown with that. Don't give up. Work hard on those essays and teacher recs. Good luck poop guy :)

lol..thanks
