What are my chances of getting into Cal Poly Slo

I just applied to colleges. I got a 1380 on my SAT and my overall gpa was a 4.17. Freshmen year, I took English 9, Spanish 1, Advanced Geometry, Social Studies, Art, Biology and PE and got a 4.0 both semesters. I messed up sophomore year getting mostly b’s my second semester. I took Algebra 2 advanced, advanced english, world history, spanish 2, chemistry, and PE. First semester, I got 3 a’s and 2 b’s and second semester I got 4 b’s and 1 a. Junior year, I took a college psyhcology course at the JC, Advanced bio, Honors trig, AP Rhetoric, Spanish 3, and Ceramics. I got an A both semesters in all those classes except a B both semesters in trig. The summer after my junior year I took calculus at Sonoma State and got an A and this year I am taking Statistics at the JC, AP environmental science, Physics, AP Econ, and a leadership course through SF State. Next semester, stats will end and I am enrolled in Child Development at the JC. I applied as a child development major. I know that all my college classes look good and was semi-confident about getting in but found out that there were 60,000 applicants this year. What are my chances of getting into Cal Poly Slo, San Diego State, and UCSB?

SLO uses 9th-11th grades in their GPA calculation while UCSB and SDSU use only 10-11th grades and will cap your UC weighted with 8 semester of honors points.

  1. What is your SLO GPA?
  2. What is your CSU/UC GPA?

SLO uses an MCA score to determine your acceptance. See link and post #52 http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cal-poly-san-luis-obispo/1694769-confused-about-mca-score-p4.html
Around a 26% projected acceptance rate for Child Development.

SDSU uses an eligibility index to determine admission:
(CSU/UC GPA x800) + (SAT Math+ CR). If you have an EI of 4100+, then you are competitive for SDSU.
30% acceptance rate for Child Development last year.

Not knowing if your posted GPA is your UC GPA capped/weighted for UCSB, here are the Freshman admit rates based on UC GPA:

Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19:
UCSB: 49%

Freshman admit rate for UC GPA of 4.20 or higher:
UCSB: 88%

With the UC’s, besides HS course rigor/Tests Scores and GPA, your essays and EC’s will also be considered.

I would say based on what you have posted:
SDSU: Match
SLO: Match
UCSB: Match-High Match

I do hope you have at least one safety school on your list and Good Luck.
