What are my chances of getting into Northeastern? PLEASE COMMENT

Hi! I recently applied Early Action to The College of Engineering at Northeastern University. My intended major is Bioengineering. I would like to hear other peoples opinions on my chances of getting into Northeastern. Would I have a better chance of getting in if I changed my application to ED2?

Personal profile:
-Gender: Male

My college essay: A well-written essay that was carefully edited. It discusses how my intended field of study (Engineering) will allow me to contribute to improving the conditions of those in need as well as the caretakers of those in need. My grandfather (who had Parkinson’s disease) was in great need of more advanced technologies to assist him, and his life has inspired me.

-Engineering award

For northeastern, you may need to apply to School of Art and Science and internally transfer to School of engineering…Internal transfer is quite easy

Admission standards are the same for all majors, hence the ease of switching. ED II would give you a better chance.

Okay, thank you. I will strongly consider changing my application to ED2 to give me the best chance of getting in because it is my favorite school! Given my information above, what do you think my current chance of getting in is?

I think it’s a bit of a reach

Don’t give up!

I’m majoring in Bioengineering and got in!

I had a 1300 on the sat, (4.52/5 W - 3.72/4 UW), NHS, NWLHS, robotics, Boy Scouts, and other volunteering activities.

I got into NU.in, so I’m going to spend my first semester abroad.

I didn’t think I was going to get in, but I did.

Good luck!

If you are full pay then I suggest you change to ED2. You probably won’t get merit, and if you don’t need to check the box “applying for financial aid” then u have a better chance

Okay, thank you! I will stay optimistic and hope for best! Any chance I could reach out to you via email to ask you some questions regarding Northeastern’s Bioengineering?

I don’t necessarily need financial aid; in fact, I doubt I will receive any financial aid due to my family’s income, but it would still be helpful. I will definitely consider changing to ED2.

@coled2012 congrats! Do you think applying to NU.in boosted your chances of getting in?
