What are my chances of getting into NYU? Barnard?

I was thinking of applying to Steinhardt (to NYU) with an education major because I heard it was one of the easiest schools to get into and then i’ll end up declaring a different major my sophomore year. Would that be alright?

Leaving aside the somewhat questionable ethics, you had better make sure you understand the rules for an internal transfer, or you might be in for a nasty surprise. Colleges are generally aware that people try these sorts of strategies, and it is often more difficult to transfer into high-demand majors from “easier” ones.
