Hi all,
I’ve loved NYU since late middle school, and as app season has been approaching, I’m thinking I want to apply.
(I’m strongly considering applying Early Decision to improve my chances)
I have about a 3.6, and I only had the opportunity to take 1 AP class before my family moved and I enrolled in an IB-only school, however, I took AP World History and got a 4. I don’t know if anyone is familliar with the IB program, but predicted scores haven’t come out yet, however I’m pretty certain I’ll be predicted mostly 7 and 6s.
I’ve been a varsity volleyball player for 2 years, I don’t know if that’ll come into play, and I’m really active in my school community – currently serving as Student Body President. I also had a 2-week internship the summer after my junior year.
I’m female and I’m a Black American although I’ve been living overseas for my entire high school career.
Thank you! I have thick skin so don’t hold back lol.
@Venice23
What are your Stats?
What’s your budget? They give lousy financial aid.
@itsgettingreal17 yeah I’m aware, that’s not a concern.
@VANDEMORY1342 ah forgot about those. I got a 1420/1600 on the SAT, and I’m planning to take it again in October. I also took the math and literature subject tests but those didn’t go well (I got a 650 and 680 respectively), so I’ll be taking those again as well.
If you apply ED, it’ll be a low reach. You should get that SAT up to around 1450.
@sparkykoolkat okay thank you. to clarify: low reach as in, there’s a low chance I’ll get in? or as in its not a crazy reach?
@Venice23 NYU is a Match to High Match for you. High Match if it’s Stern.
@VANDEMORY1342 alright thank you. I’m looking at the school of arts & sciences so that’s good.
It’s not a crazy reach in my opinion. If you get that SAT up, it should become a match.
@itsgettingreal17 NYU doesn’t give lousy financial aid. I received a 35k scholarship from them and the rest is all through loans.
