What are my chances of getting into Stanford?

Background:

My parents got divorced when i was 8 years old and ever since then I have had to change schools and states every 6 months (should i write about this in my essays?). So i have moved around A LOT during highschool and it was fine freshman year, but sophomore year it was not. For the first semester of sophomore year i went to a block schedule school. The second semester i went to a 6 period school. Since i moved halfway through the year, i was forced to take only semester classes.

What are my chances of getting into Stanford?
Will my weak 2nd semester classes from sophomore year look bad even though i had no other choice?

Your chances are pretty great especially b/c of USAMO and your business (2 great hooks!!!). Your standardized test scores are perfect, and you have an interesting story… You will be an extremely competitive applicant. Although you do have two weaknesses - Your EC’s to a certain extent and your class load(not much of a weakness though). Math Club and the varsity sports sound like your strongest EC’s, and they are great but I am not so sure about FBLA and NHS(especially since you only have 200 hours of community service). I understand about your moving issue, but still your math classes could be a lot harder.

Do you think you could chance me?

Good luck

you’ll get in. guarentee with URM. are you a junior?

Don’t be too optimistic. 95% of applicants are rejected. A lot of those are QUALIFIED applicants. Scores and ECs can only take you so far.

@Dagiehead‌:
I didn’t mention freshman year. I also took honors alg1 and double honors alg2/trig

You’re pretty competitive, so I think you have a 10% shot of getting in. That’s solid - make sure you apply to other top schools as well since the process is a crapshoot.
