I’m currently a highschool senior doing some planning and I’d hope to get into University of Pittsburgh but I have no idea if I can.
I’m an asian female from south carolina
GPA (weighted): 4.65
GPA weighted: maybe a 3.85 but that’s just an estimate
ACT:28, but I could get a 30 if I did it again. I got a 28 on my first try and haven’t really had the chance to take it again.
I got a 1260 on my SAT and for good reason, I decided not to take it again.
all honors classes besides one normal that i retook as an AP sophomore year
7 AP classes total by the end of this year (world history, bio, US history, chemistry, calculus, government, language) I would have taken physics but the class and teaching would not have been a wise use of my time.
2 years of NHS
2 years of student council
3 years of art
2 years as president of art club
2 years backstage for drama
I’m just a parent but your stats look in line for Swanson if you can get that ACT to a 30.
Is Pitt going to be affordable for you? Out of state tuition = $37,000/year and then room and board is around $11,000 per year. So add in travel costs and books and you’re looking at basically $50,000 per year.
A 30 ACT should be good enough for acceptance at Pitt but you won’t get any merit scholarships. They do have some unpredictable need based aid that goes to out of state kids but it is heavily based on financial need and you really need to know where your family stands in that area.
