What are my chances of getting into the University of Michigan-Ross

ACT:28
GPA: 3.87UW
EC: DECA President, NHS, Sports, Tutoring, community service hrs, DECA State officer candidate, student of the month awards, testing medals, news crew anchor.
The University of Michigan is my dream school. Please chance me. I’m taking the ACT again in two weeks!

Anyone???

Im gonna be completely honest with you, your stats and extracurriculars are great, ACT is a little low but you said your taking it again so thats good. You seem like you’d do really well at UMICH. The admissions process is a mystery though. Stick it out the whole way through and I hope it works out for you, good luck!

Your ACT score needs to come up, especially if you are OOS.

Do either of you think I have any chance with my current ACT?

My D was wait listed with a 4.0 UW GPA and a 33 ACT, as was her school’s val with a 36 ACT. OOS.

Your chances are better if you are instate.

No shot with that ACT.

I’m currently a junior in high school in MN. ACT: 28(taking it again in two weeks) GPA: 3.88 UW 4.04 W
EC: DECA President, NHS, Community service hrs, tutor, news crew anchor, MN DECA State Officer candidate, student of the month awards, testing medals, and varsity sports. Please chance me, I plan on applying to Ross (My DREAM school)

Even early action??

The average ACT of incoming Ross students this year was 33, a 28 is not going to be enough, especially for an OOS candidate. https://michiganross.umich.edu/undergraduate/bba/admissions/first-year-applicants

Michigan LSA will also be a reach for you OOS. If that is your dream school certainly apply, but categorize it as a reach and make sure to also have match and highly likely schools on your list. In LSA, you could major in econ and go into the business world with that, or you could try to transfer into Ross (again competitive, high freshman year grades necessary).

33/34 is the magical area to be for ACT for most programs. Your 28 and being OOS won’t get a look. You have time being a junior to get it up if you choose. See what happens with you new score but be prepared to study over the summer and take the Act again.
