Do I stand good even if I am not in the top 10%? Any tips and what not?

Is that public school competitive?
Also, you didn’t actually write the scores of your AP tests. The difference between a 5 and a 2 is large… (I’m not saying you got 2s, but just saying.)

And what were your decathlon rankings?
O:

What’s your major and financial aid situation? I’d say good chances at GWU, NEU and UT. NYU and BU too, but don’t expect good fin aid.

Oh my god what’s with your ACT and SAT?? They’re so far apart. Don’t send the ACT and you’ll have at least a small shot at all those schools. Your GPA is lacking, that’s what might get you in the application process.

Northwestern and NYU are your only maybes. Boston University is a match, and you’re pretty much in everywhere else. I’d say you’re definitely fit for NYU, but with a good application you’ll have a great shot at Northwestern!

I really wasn’t aware at how competitive Northwestern really is to get into.

My high school is very competitive. I got 4’s on World History, US History, and English. I got a 2 in Statistics… so I didn’t really plan on sending that in.

I did terrible on the ACT because of the science part… It was horrible.

I am thinking of taking some SAT subject tests… is this a good idea? If so, which ones?

And I think I am going to apply to Boston University Early Decision… I want to major in broadcast journalism/acting. So, Boston offers both of that. There are seven people in my family and I am a first generation college student.

You are in the possible range for all those schools. The only ones who can give you a realistic assessment of your chances are the members of the admissions committees at those schools, and then only when they have your complete application package in front of them.

This message is MIT-specific, but the principle applies to all selective colleges:

Make sure your college list includes some safeties - schools where your stats are well above the norm, that you can pay for under most pessimistic FA assumptions, and where you’d be happy.
