What are my chances of getting into UC Berkeley with My stats?

I have a 4.3 weighted GPA and an unweighted GPA of 3.85

My SAT score is a 1710 composite
-Do GPA and Test Scores really hold that much weight when it comes to admissions?

I do play three sports baseball, basketball and football In which I am captain in two. I'm being looked at by a few colleges in my state (North Carolina) for football. I have won the team before self award in baseball and I have been selected as an all-conference wide receiver in football.

I am very involved at my church, I love to sing so I sing in two groups at my church plus I usher!

I am involved with some school clubs but mainly the Interact club because we really work in our community things like toys for tots, blood drives, and donations.

This year I got to work on the democratic campaign as a volunteer!

I am a Junior Counselor at a summer camp called S.A.S.I,(student athlete summer institute) where I mentor and teach a group of student athletes about leadership, sportsmanship and making healthy choices, through cheers, skits, etc.

have a few poems that I've written be published as well, because I like to write poetry and journals. I also write for my schools yearbook.

My personal statements really describe me and I feel good about them! They are really big part of app, I heard for UC schools

Do you think I would be a strong candidate for Berkeley? I also I applied to UC Santa Cruz. I applied to both schools as an undergraduate to major in Sociology. What are my chances for both?

“Do GPA and Test Scores really hold that much weight when it comes to admissions?”

Yes, GPA and test scores are the two most important parts of your application.
Being an out of state student makes it a little more difficult to get into Berkeley. Your GPA is slightly below average and your SAT score is far below average for Berkeley. You have great extracurriculars, but Berkeley is a High Match unfortunately. UC Santa Cruz is a Low Match.

^ what do you mean by “High Match” and “Low Match”

High Match - Your GPA and SAT are lower than average. Low Match - GPA and SAT are higher than average. If you improve your SAT score, you should be fine

Thanks man…Its a little too late for me to improve my scores, I get my decision in three weeks. It sucks, but maybe I can luck up
