I am currently attending a California community college. I submitted my TAG to davis, however berkeley is my #1 choice. I have quite a bit of extra curriculars, so Im wondering if that might be able to help me out since my gpa isnt perfect. I've managed to work near full time for 4 semesters now (since spring 2012). Working all those hours kind of affected my gpa. Im currently getting all A's and hope to raise my gpa to a 3.6 by the end of fall. Anyways, Here are my stats:

Applying as an MCB (cell and developmental bio) major

-gpa: 3.53. I have 4 W's that were all in GE classes. None in pre reqs. Have completed 72 units so far.
-IGETC: All completed
-pre reqs: Currently taking bio 1a and chem 112a. Will be done with ALL pre reqs by end of spring 2014

Extra curriculars:
- Currently in the TAP program.
- worked 30-35 hrs per week at walgreens since spring 2012.
- chemistry tutor
- I tutor two 9th graders in math and english.
- biology club
- phi theta kappa
- Volunteered 150+ hours at my local hospital
- Participated in an internship at stanford university during high school. this is what furthered my interest in cell biology.
- Im responsible for paying 1/4 of my household's monthly rent and for buying all of the groceries/household necessities.
- Taught myself how to fluently speak farsi

My personal statement should be decent. My previous english prof proofread it and said that it was good. Going to make 1 more draft before I submit it. I'm half latino half Iranian. I'll be applying as a latino instead of white.

So with all that being said, do I stand a chance of getting into Cal? I understand that around 80-90% of TAP applicants get admitted into UCB, but I'm still a bit worried because of my gpa.
