I am a current senior. My gpa is a 4.2 weighted and a 3.2 unweighted. I went to private school so the classes were a little more rigorous but I don't know if that matters. My senior year schedule is 3 APs and 3 honors. My SAT: Reading: 570 Math: 770 Writing: 610 Final score: 1950 I also have a lot of extra curricular activities and sports. I know i want to be pre-med and go to med school. I also have around 200 com service hours right now and mostly all are from volunteering at a hospital. I was just wondering what my chances are at getting into UF or any other florida school is. Thanks!

Hi,

For your chances at any of the 12 public universities in Florida, check out the following admission matrix. It will list GPA/test score ranges for each college.

http://www.flbog.edu/about/_doc/cod/asa/admission_2013/2013-Matrix.pdf

At UF, your unweighted GPA seems a bit low. UF weights GPA, but giving an extra 0.5 points for an honors/gifted class, and an extra point for AP/AICE/IP/DE class. So, a B in honors English is worth 3.5 points, while a B in AP US History is worth 5.0 points. Recalculate your GPA, it should be something less than 4.2.

Some Florida schools use your GPA off your high school transcripts (FSU for example), while UF will recalculate your GPA. If your high school transcripts has a 4.2, that’s what FSU would use, while UF wold recalculate your score.

Good Luck!!
