What are my chances of getting into Yale and how can I improve them?

I’m a Freshman in high school with an incoming unweighted GPA of 4.0 . I am taking all honors classes plus the only AP class offered to Freshman. I am an actress and dedicated participant in theatre and dance at my high school. If I were to be accepted into Yale, I plan to pursue a double major in theatre and literature. I understand that there is little to go on as I am a newer high school student, so any information you can additionally provide me as to what I need to get into this school would be helpful. Thank you!

you said it yourself. there is little to go on based on what you provided. come back in two years when you have more classes/test scores.

There really is no information to go on. Your incoming GPA could only be one or two classes you took in MS that were on the HS level. Keep doing what you enjoy doing and work to get the best grades you can.

There is way too soon to say. You’re on the right track class/grades wise, though. All you need to be doing at the moment is continue to take a challenging course load and achieve good grades, join one or two clubs at your school and develop your ECs in things your passionate about such as theatre. Good luck!

My best advice is for you to take the most rigorous classes you can, and have a healthy balance of studying and doing things that mean something to you, will make a real difference to others and that matter. Give your teachers some great reasons to give you stellar recommendations.

FYI, Yale does not offer an undergraduate theater major

^^ FWIW: Yale DOES offer an undergraduate THEATRE STUDIES major: http://theaterstudies.yale.edu/about-program
