<p>Hey guys , I just wanted to ask my chances of going to NYU CAS.
I got my SAT scores today ,and they weren't great as I wanted... But I can't do anything about it now.
But here is the general outline.</p>
<p>Ethnicity: Asian American
Female
SAT : 1980
Writing : 640 ( I kind of suck at writing... And I didn't even have enough time to finish.)
CR : 650 ( ...)
Math : 690 ( The questions were kind of weird... And I made a silly mistake... That cost me like 20 - 30 pts)</p>
<p>This was my october test, and I didn't even tell my parents... I can't really take it again , because this is my 3rd time taking it.</p>
<p>I'm thinking of taking of taking SAT II's for world history and Math I or II in December.</p>
<p>Courses I took and am taking

AP Lit (last yr)
AP Physics B ( last yr)
AP Lang ( this yr)

<p>GPA : 3.77 UW. Its going to go up if I count my senior year. I don't know my weighted. Probably over a 4.0</p>
<p>My Class rank is 10/450 , so I am in the 2 percent of my school. It is my weighted GPA.</p>
<p>Extracurriculars:
Tennis ( 4 yrs ) Varsity tennis ( 10- 12) First singles this yr. ( I really love tennis ~~~)
Golf ( 9-10) Varsity golf ( 10 )
Spanish Honors society (10 -12)
Academic Decathlon (10 -12)
I will get inducted for National Honors society this yr ( 300 + hours)</p>

Scholastic award B Level . Art history - 1rst in region( Academic Decathlon)

Korean culture graphic / fine arts contest ( 1rst place - the winners were announced today ^^)
Graphic design exhibit ( I am working on it ... It will be held in a week)
And I made a book which is about bullying with graphic design. This is what I'm exhibiting ... ( I wish this kind of helps me for college. I really worked hard on it.)</p>

I wanted to major in Art History & Criticism and minor in teaching which is apparently in CAS.
I also wanted to know if Art history & Criticism is also in other departments as well...
Like Steinhardt ? I asked my counselor , but he didn't know for sure... And because Art history is not a well known major , will I have a better chance of getting in ? I didn't pick the major because of that.. I just like art.</p>
<p>And I don't know if this helps you guys to know this , but I live in New Jersey.
My high school isn't a good high school. I don't know if thats good or bad for me . Does it help me to stand out ? And The average SAT score in my school is a 1400.</p>
<p>And for my college essay , I wrote about the environment I am most content in and I wrote about the nursing home I work at.. This was really true for me because I used to be really shy and I didn't like to talk to people. But after I went there ,I talked about how I changed, and I met new people. I talked about my grandma who had Alzheimer's and who lost memories of me before she passed away, and how working at the nursing home helped me to feel a connection I never really felt with my grandma...</p>

<p>My parents don't want me to go far away , so I'm looking for colleges near me.
What are my chances to get to NYU CAS ? I would really love to go here... Its so close to me , and I don't know, I just want to go to this school.
And do you guys have any other suggestions for colleges or anything ?? Thanks ~
