I am currently a freshman at SUNY Albany and although I am somewhat enjoying myself, I want to transfer to SUNY Oneonta, and I am applying there for the spring 2013 semester. I applied as a senior in high school, but was rejected probably because of my low gpa and my late application. Here are my credentials:

84 gpa in high school (Great Neck South High School, which is known for being a good high school).
2000 on SAT's (1360/1600 for math/reading): 780 on math, 580 on reading, and 640 on writing.
A couple of extracurriculars, including some volunteer work, global village and environmental club that I did for one year each, and football for a year (I am also doing intramural football at SUNY Albany), but nothing too in-depth.

I know it has only been one semester, so they are asking for my mid-term grades, but I have a 3.8125 gpa in college. I am majoring in general mathematics, and my current calculus teacher said he's going to write a glowing letter of recommendation for me because I am doing very well in his class.

I thought I had decent chances the first time I applied, but obviously that didn't work out so well for me. What do you think my chances are for the second time applying?

Whether it is a negative answer or a positive answer, thank you so much for taking the time out to listen to me, because I can use anything right now. I am so nervous because I really want to get in.
