campus visit, DVD, talked to rep during visit and through email, uncle is director of spinal department, talking to debate coach, talking to emory students (common app asked about it), talked to reps at college fairs

I feel recs are solid: 2 solid teachers, debate coach/teacher, uncle (who teaches at emory), and emory debate

I felt my essay was good: personal and showed who i was (or at least my dad, counselor and I think so)

please be honest, i appreciate it. good luck to all applying!

ill: well, post #2 certainly helps....also, if you are a GA resident, I would say you have a great chance......and having a relative who is an employee of Emory doesn't hurt..only thing that may hold you back is that I don't think you have taken calc? Good luck!

should be fine....the only caveat is if you are from NY/NJ....much more difficult to get in from there, unless you come from a feeder school to Emory.

hmmm. will totally depend on ED1 pool from the geographic area; good move to apply ED though; last year was a bloodbath for RD from the NY/NJ area.......

Does your school have a Naviance program? Has anyone else applied/been accepted to Emory over the last few years? That would probably give you the best indication of your chance of admittance.....especially if Emory did not visit your school in September when they were in NJ.

emory visited my school back in october (i didn't realize that made us a feeder school but that's good to know) and i know a few people have gotten in over the last few years (i think it was 3 last year and 2 the year before but i don't know how many applied). i don't think we have a naviance program, mainly because i don't know what that is...
