What are my chances to be a semifinalist for Emory Scholars?

Hi everyone! So last week I found out that I was nominated for Emory Scholars at my school. Emory is my first choice, but my parents want me to go to another school. Getting even a little bit of scholarship would help convince them otherwise, so I'm really desperate for this opportunity. I know I'm not the most perfect student, but what do you think my chances of going on to the semifinalist round would be?

I think you deserve to go to an Ivy League than Emory.

Your ECs are outstanding and “scholarship worthy.” If something stops you from getting it, it will b your stats. Don’t get me wrong, they are very good. However, MANY val/sals with 2300+s will also be applying for this scholarship. That said, you have a relatively good shot.

We know people that were waitlisted for admission overall with your stats; therefore, Emory Scholars is a reach IMO

I don’t know if I agree with you. Ya, her stats do leave a little to be desired for this major scholarship, but her ECs are outstanding. As I already said, if she doesnt make it to semis, her stats did probably cause her rejection. However, I think that if you take everything into account, she has a fairly good shot at become a semifinalist.
