I am a current junior enrolled in a duel-enrollment program at my local community college that I am on course to graduate with a 3.875 GPA, magna cum laude. As for HS, I have a 4.19 GPA, 690 Math SAT, 660 CR/W SAT, one of a hundred winners in a national poetry contest, was selected into a highly selective STEM program for HS, won first place for innovation in a local robotics competition, two-year morning news anchor for my HS, and published in an anthology poetry collection. I worry that I don’t have enough extracurriculars for serious consideration, I was a member of a few clubs in the past, but I am too busy to stay a member of those clubs. I also plan to go in for STEM too so my writing accomplishments will likely carry little to no merit. My dad also got his bachelors there, so I think that may help me a little. So, do you have any thoughts or advice? Thank you.
You will get in without a doubt just keep your GPA high and you will be fine. I would be shocked if you did not get into Rutgers. Good Luck
Rutgers posts their ‘Midranges for Acceptance’ every year and that is always a good reference: https://admissions.rutgers.edu/applying/admissions-profile
Also, they strongly appreciate Duel Enrollment/CEP type programs, as that shown early initiative.
My S did both and his specs are very similar to yours and got in all schools he applied to this year so you should be on track!
Also, do NOT downplay your literary accomplishments!!! If you notice on the Rutgers website, most Honors related programs place a very high emphasis on ELA and while STEM might not have ENGLISH in it, you can’t do the rest without it!
My S is targeting Math and Sciences and again his English has been invaluable in the Application Process!

Things that have a huge influence on Rutgers admissions: GPA, rank, test scores, college credit earned before graduating high school, rigor of course load. Competitive academic awards
Things that have very little influence on Rutgers admission: extracurriculars or volunteer work (unless it is directly related to your major, like being an EMT might help you get into the nursing school possibly).
Things that will have zero influence on your admission: whether your parents or relatives attended. They don’t do ‘legacy admissions’.
Basically a person with strong grades and test scores could almost skip the extra curricular portion of the application and still get in. A person with poor grades or test scores could have the most extensive extra curricular and volunteer resume on the planet and still won’t get in. Your mileage may vary but the bottom line is that Rutgers wants to make sure you can handle the school’s academic rigor and that you will graduate in four years. Period. Most large state schools are the same.
