<p>I won't need financial aid (if that makes a difference) and applied to the College of Arts and Sciences. Rutgers is my #1 choice.</p>
<p>I sent in my application in the middle of September and Rutgers is my #1 choice. I have not heard yet and am getting nervous. Rutgers average SAT is 1219 but I heard they favor heavily students from NJ...am I correct?</p>
<p>What are my chances of getting in....any insights or idea why I haven't heard yet???</p>
<p>We cannot tell you if you can get in or not, but I wil say that for Rutgers you have a better chance if you are in New Jersey. Did you write the essay? Also, did you take any honors/AP/IB courses during high school? How about recommendations; did you ask a teacher to submit one in for you? And what is your class rank?</p>
<p>I haven't heard from Rutgers yet either, but I just submitted my application 2 weeks ago. My verbal score was less than yours, and my math scores was exactly 570 also. Did you participate in any other activities aside from sports, like maybe community service or an afterschool job?</p>
<p>I don't think we would have heard from them this weekend because it was thanksgiving and all. There are so many applicants so it might take a while for a decision. The latest you can hear from them is I think February, but that's a loooong time. You might hear from them in the next few weeks or so.</p>

<p>Rutgers, the STATE University of NJ is required to have 85% of total admits be FROM NJ, so that should help. Keep in mind they are on rolling admissions so you should have a good shot if everything was submitted prior to all the others who are waiting until the last minute. Also, HS rank is more important than SATs...Top 20% with your scores should do it.</p>
