What are my chances to get into MIT?

Right now, I'm looking to see which schools I should apply to, and my friend has recommended that I apply to MIT. My weighted grade average is 101.5, and I've taken 3 AP classes in my junior year, and 3 AP classes in my senior year. (I got 5's on AP physics, AP chem, AP history, and I will probably do well in AP bio, AP music theory, and AP calc). I also play flute for my school band, and I play piano. I am in all of the most advanced (honors/ap) that my school offers. My SAT score is 2220. In terms of extracurriculars, I've helped out with the middle school science olympiad team all through high school, done 2 seasons of sports each year, and I've spend an average of 20 hours a week during the school year working with my high school robotics team.

Personally, I don't think that I will stand out enough to be accepted to a school like MIT, but all my friends are encouraging me to try.

What do you guys think my chances are for getting in? Do you think it could actually happen, or would I be better off applying to other schools?

Thanks!

I should probably add that I’ve been on a varsity sports team for 2 years in high school.

Just go for it! Even though your ECs may not be spectacular, they’re certainly not bad. Unless you’re reluctant to pay $75 or whatever, you have nothing to lose
