What are my chances to get into UNC?

I know this question probably gets asked very frequently, as it's a very pressing issue for most people going to college. I just want to know if I need to do anything else in order for me to have a good shot at UNC

Junior in High School
4.31 GPA (Est. 4.5 at the end of Junior Year)
Class Rank: Tied for 9th out of 355
Unweighted GPA: 3.6
Class Rank (UW): 45/355
SAT: Not taken yet
ACT: Not taken yet
EC: Volunteered at the food bank
Member of JOOI Club
Member of Key Club
Member of FBLA
Trying to get a Debate team up and running, in which I would be president
I've taken 4 AP Classes
Sophomore:
AP Psych (Passed W/ A, 4 on the Exam)
Junior:
AP English (Still taking, Est. B)
APES (Passed W/ A)
AP Euro (Still taking , Either a B or A)

So how much of a shot do I have right now and what else do I need to do to increase my chances?

Also, I'm working with JOOI Club to do a fundraiser to help pay for a student who has recently been diagnosed with Leukemia. Are these things considered to be a good EC activity?

Thanks :)

Are you a resident of North Carolina? They take 80%+ from in-state applicants.

Yes, I am. But I have seen that they only accept 52%, thats what their site says anyways. I know they must have a 82% to 18% In-State to Out-Of-State ratio; however. Also, I know many people who got deferred, one being a guy with a 4.6 GPA and a 2070 on the SAT, while another has a 4.5 and a 1790 on the SAT, and she got accepted. I have no idea what they want haha.

You seem like a strong applicant, work to get high SAT and ACT scores. GOOD LUCK!

Thank you. Is there any other things I need to do with regards to EC’s?

Also, would starting a club carry a lot of weight in the leadership aspect?

Looks good! But just to strengthen your chances, do internships and volunteer even more!

Thanks  I’m trying to get an internship at a law firm (I want to be a lawyer) and I’m also going to start volunteering at the Food Bank. Would doing Dual Enrollment there or at Wake Tech be a good idea over the summer?

bump…

another bump.

Also, as of today I’ve been accepted into the National Honor Society.

Oh yeah I forgot: I started a Guitar Club Freshman Year.

An internship at a law firm would be super impressive.
Between debate team (if all works out) and guitar club, you show leadership - which is good.
It’s really hard to chance you without ACT/SAT. If you can obtain at 2000 SAT you should be a match.

Thank you. I’m aiming for a 2100+ on the SAT (Taking it in June) and a 30+ on the ACT (Taking it March 6th). Also, I know a match means I have a good shot to get into a college, but does a reach mean a low chance? I’ve been reading some of the posts on other threads and I didn’t really understand hahah. I’m a CC noob I guess.

another bump. Anyone else?

You have a fairly good chance just work on ur SATs.

Thank you. I’ve also forgot to mention the bulk of my EC’s. I go to the elementary school and read to kids for Read Across America, I’ve worked with clubs to make sandwiches for homeless people, and I’ve also worked with clubs to go and buy clothes for less fortunate kids on Christmas. I’ve done some other things, but thats the bulk of it.

Another bump. Anyone else?

You look like a strong candidate. I would say work hard on those SATs and add another EC if you can.

Okay thanks and does ACT scores matter as much as SATs?
