What are my chances to Williams/Amherst/Ivies/Duke/uChicago?

<p>I'm not looking into top Ivies (Princeton/Harvard/Yale), mostly the lower level ones are of more interest (Dartmouth/Brown). I might ED Dartmouth. I'm a rising senior.</p>

<p>Asian female (things are already looking dim)
Private School in Ohio
Income: 250-300K </p>

<p>SAT: 2320 (750 CR/770 M/800 W)
ACT: 35 (36 E/36 M/34 R/35 S)
APS: Euro 4, Bio 4, USH 4, English Language 4 (are these even worth reporting? they're so consistently horrible)
SAT II: 730 Bio (will retake), 800 Math II
GPA (junior year): 3.95 UW/4.28 W </p>

-Interning at Stanford University for 4 weeks this summer (hopefully will get published?)</p>

<p>I believe you have as good a chance as everyone else when applying to these schools. You meet the benchmarks! :slight_smile: If you apply to as many of the top20 you can and want to, I think anywhere from 2-5 will take you</p>

<p>I think your chances are pretty good. Your research at Cincinnati is especially impressive. I would report the APs because your transcript will show you took the classes and it will look suspicious if you report no scores; colleges will most likely assume you failed the exams. 4s aren’t anything to sneeze at, anyway. Being an upper class Asian will hurt you frankly, but I’m guessing, given your research, that you’re interested in the sciences, so maybe it will help a bit to be a female in the sciences? Anyway:</p>

<p>Williams: high match/low reach
Amherst: high match/low reach
Brown: (don’t know a lot here but would estimate) high match/low reach
Dartmouth ED: high match
Duke: high match/low reach
UChicago: high match</p>

<p>These are all very difficult to get into and somewhat random by nature, so they’re a reach for everyone. I can’t really suggest anything as to safeties because I don’t know what you’re looking for in a school. Maybe look at some public schools ranked in the 30s and 40s? I think you have a very good chance at schools like UNC or UVA. Regardless, you have impressive credentials, so I think you will pick off at least one or two of these (will you apply to UChicago EA?). Best of luck to you!</p>

<p>I think you have a good chance! You have great stats! don’t worry about those pesky APs! Your Ecs are nice and diverse! Lower Ivies seem like low reaches =D</p>

<p>@collegeyeaaah Congrats =D>. Can I ask about how you got an internship at Stanford? Also, how is it that you have 4 B’s and 2 A- yet you have a really high UW GPA? I have 3 B+ and 4 A- yet I have a 3.85 UW GPA. </p>
