Hi. So, I not sure if I should even apply for these universities or not... really need some feedbacks on what you guys think..thanks

My grades are mostly Bs and As and my current cumulative GPA and around a 3.7.
I've taken the SAT but did HORRIBLE (1640) T_T
I've also taken SAT II math level 2 and got a 670.
I've taken four APs (AP Chinese: 5, AP Music Theory- 3, AP Calculus and AP Psychology- this year) and about 500+ service hours :)
EC: senior class treasurer; peer tutoring; teacher's assistance; varsity girls' softball; kid's english club; band; violin&piano concerts
I might get in NHS this year...

Yeah, Im very very average (even below average)... so what are my chances for all the UCs and USC??????? ohh, and im asian if that chances anything.

Please be honest and thanks for any help!!

I assume your weighed GPA is higher than 3.7.

The UCs say they dont factor in race, but I don’t totally believe it.

USC, Berkeley and UCLA are reaches.
UCSD is a low reach.
Davis, Irvine, UCSB are high matches, though I would expect you to get into at least one
Riverside and Merced are low matches

If all else fails, go to a CC, do well, and transfer to a UC where the SAT scores wont matter so much.

Your chances at USC, UC Berkeley, and UCLA are extremely slim because of you SAT score. Your chances at UCSD, UC Davis, UCSB, and UC Irvine are low as well. UC Santa Cruz, UC Riverside, and UC Merced are all target/match schools for you.

If you are set on only applying to UCs and USC, I would suggest applying to UC Santa Cruz, UC Riverside, UC Merced, and then pick the one or two schools that you like best out of UCSD, UC Davis, UCSB, or UC Irvine. I wouldn’t suggest applying to any of the other UCs or USC since your chances are so slim that I don’t feel it would be worthh it to spend the time and money to apply. The mid-tier UCs, listed previously, are all reaches anyway.

Why not also consider some Cal States? Many of them would be matches/safeties and they are definitely worth some consideration. Cal Poly SLO, Cal Poly Pomona, Fullerton, Long Beach, and Chico come to mind first, but you should check out all of the campuses to look for more possible schools to apply to.

Best of luck with your college process! :)

Applying to more UCs is as simple as checking a box and paying 70 extra dollars per school. The chances are quite low, but it doesnt hurt to go for it.
