What are my chances?

Going into senior year this year, and to be honest this is one of the schools i´d really like to go to.

latin male

weighted GPA: 3.6
(yeah i know, i messed up my first two years of highschool)

i cant calculate my unweighted GPA at the moment.

SAT: (first time, plan on taking it again)
total: 1850
reading: 660
math: 620
writing: 570

I took two AP courses junior year, APUSH and AP ENG Lang.
i got 4 on both tests.
I plan on taking at least 2 more AP courses senior year.
I was a part of the football/soccer team.
I feel as if i have a low chance of getting in if i do not raise my SAT score/take the ACT, yet at the same time the general consensus is that applying early gives you a better chance of getting accepted.
truthfully i feel as if im running out of time, starting my last year of highschool and all, so any wisdom or advice on what i should do would be appreciated.
thanks

In actuality, base upon your presented statistics, you have a good chance of gaining admissions as a freshman 2012. Suggestion-

  1. Apply early
  2. Retake your sat, you have about a month until next dealine
  3. Take the ACT and the closing deadline is S O O N approaching
    Good Luck

I think that your stats are basically the typical student who gets accepted. You should have no problem at all with gaining acceptance from University of Central Florida. I wouldn’t waste your money on retaking the SATs or ACTs because your score is above average for UCF. I found this from a website…
High Low Avg
SAT Combined: 1910 1610 1760
SAT I Math: 650 550 600
SAT I Critical Reading: 630 530 580

You shouldn’t have anything to worry about. Stay positive and I wish you the best of luck! :)

thank you both for the replies!!
I have another question if anyone would be kind enough to help me out, regarding early applications…
what is considered ‘early’?
and if i do chose to re-take the SAT or take the ACT, will i miss that early application deadline? ( because it takes at least 2-3 weeks for the SAT scores to come out, and i dont know about the ACT)
thanks again!

Well UCF has rolling admissions, so there is no exact early deadline. I would consider anywhere before mid-november early, but that’s just a personal opinion. After that time the admissions gets pretty crammed up.

Apply before the end of September…or even the end of August. Last year they started their acceptances mid September. The sooner the better. It can’t hurt!

Your definately in. Start the app. now though. They ask alotta stupid crap

You have a good chance. I think that they are kind of a 1200 math/CR SAT type of school.
