Thanks!

I actually think it's a slight reach.

flsky
I think your ecs and music achievements are great. are you looking for merit aid from Case? If not, you may get in. what subject/dept are you trying for?
Are your ACTs better than the SATs? Send in your ACT scores then. Also, see if you can do the SAT again. My D improved her scores dramatically in the Verbal area...her achilles heel. Good luck ...and keep trying lots of other places...i believe there is a univ out there for everyone, it's finding the match that is hard.

hmm, is it too late to take ACTs?
i did really really well on sat 2s tho.

flsky:
check out the ACT website for the dates....I don't remember if it is too late to do the SAT reasoning test either..I know they have one in Jan.
what are the other places you have applied too?

im not looking for merit aid, i just wanna get in =(

any other comments?

which other univs are you trying to get into...my D got into Case her SATs were not great. But she did get accepted. In fact she has been accepted everywhere she applied ...so you never know

im applying to vanderbilt/case/usc/umich and so far thats it. i already secured my safety[ rutgers premed]

Good luck!

i got in with similiar scores, so i think you have a chance, but definately no chance with merit aid

Insane_Membrane, did u apply early or are u already a freshman @ case

are midyear grades taken into consideration, cause i kno with some schools they arent really looked at =(

Oh I applied EA this year. My Sats are on the EA Accepted thread.

any other comments?

I think you'll get in as Case cares quite a bit about extracirriculars and many a kid on campus has gotten in from them. There's also a huge emphasis on the courseload you're taking compared to other kids from your school who have applied so if you had issues with your courses for awhile in there be sure you mention it somewhere on your application.

thanks stargirl! im gonna be visiting case this weekend, any comments on the campus?

if your talking about buildings and layout---awesome case has a really neat mixture of modern (including a bld. by reknowned architect frank gehry) and old school academic looking buildings----driving to campus is especially neat via I-90 on Martin Luther King Blvd. you go threw this beautiful park that stradles both sides of the road--and all of cleveland musuems are in this park and then the road ends and your at case western---as far as campus goes i think case has an awesome campus (at least more than warranted)and you can tell its something the school cares about and devouts an effort to improving---although some say the surrounding neighborhood is "scary" i didn't really think it was that bad at all

If you're going on the tour the campus requires by nature that you go all over it so hence it's longer than normal. So when you're going the distance from the Main Quad to the Northside dorms take the time to think if you really want to walk it at least once a day regardless of the conditions... I think right now they say there's little snow as well so think about what it means when there's snow! I mention this because on a lot of campuses you can roll out of bed ten minutes before class and be on time, you can't at Case and this does bother some people... it is perfect if you're thinking of riding your bike tho methinks.
armcp describes the campus quite nicely so I'll skip over most of it (though I'll note that the surrounding area is no more scary than any other urban campus IMO). In general the science stuff is on Southside (where the old Case Institute of Technology was) and the humanities stuff is on Northside (where the Western Reserve University was) so there are still two quads etc, but I've always liked it overall.

oh icic, see i dont like the campuses of like nyu and stuff it barely looks like a college, im hoping that case will have more of a college atmosphere to it! i heard the schools acceptance rate is really high, but the academics are pretty damn tough. im just worried about being able to handle the courseload if i get in, especially cause i wanna prolly go into medicine for grad and gpa is relatively important
