I’m in the bottom 50% of my class, 3.1 GPA weighted, 2.49 unweighted gpa and a 20 on my act, i took basically all ap and pre ap classes all highschool life, what Texas school can I go to or have a good chance getting in?
Plug in Texas and your Stats and see what matches come up.
What does your guidance counselor say? Ask him/her

list of some texas schools with mid-50% ACT score ranges. based on ACT alone, it could be difficult getting into any one college but considering you have a good course load, have backups and you’ll be ok. Keep in mind grades and scores aren’t everything.
You might have to look at community colleges for two years and then transferring. Weighted GPA typically means nothing because how the weighting is done can vary greatly by school. Unweighted GPA is less likely to differ from school to school, thus that typically carries more weight in admissions decisions. If you do well at a community college, then your high school record won’t really matter anymore.
To colleges, it tends to be your unweighted GPA that matters because that tends to vary less by schools, thus creating a more leveled playing field for applicants. There is a good chance that with your stats, your best bet is to attend a community college first and then transfer to a 4 year.
what did i just say

Scroll down to C9.
If you look at the data, your ACT is within the 25%-75% of accepted students but it is toward the 25%.
Your class rank will hurt you as most students are in the top 50%.
You can find the same info for Sam Houston.
If you scored a 3 or better on AP exams, I would send those scores.
i scored a 3 in world history, and a 4 in us history, would that help in my admissions?
I really don’t know if it would help, but those are good scores. I would send them. Do you go to a very competetive high school?
yes, very competitive
FYI my friend’s daughter LOVES Sam Houston.
Good luck. The schools should take the competitiveness of your high school into account.
Can you retake the ACT or is it too late?

A “low” ACT according to the school is a 17. The average is a 23. You are right in the middle. You’ll need stellar ECs and good letters of rec to make up for your low class rank and low ACT. Maybe try the SAT!
Compare you stats to the common data set for each school:

Look at sections C9-C11
