What are my chances?

Ok so I’m a senior in high school, I’m 18 and I’m a soccer player.

I’m being recruited by some Ivy League coaches for soccer and they want me on their team but I’m scared that my grades aren’t up to the standard of an Ivy League school (UPenn and Dartmouth.)

Freshman and sophomore year I took 2-3 honors classes each year. Junior and senior year I took (or am taking) 3 AP classes.

I have an unweighted GPA of 89 and a weighted GPA of 92 for my entire high school career.

I took the new version of the SAT and got a 1270 (670 English writing etc and 600 math).

I know these are bad scores and grades and they are definitely not Ivy League material but will being a student athlete help my chances? I really do work hard in school and out on the field.

If you’ve been recruited by the schools, what’s the problem? They want you, right? I think your GPA and scores are decent for a recruited athletes. Don’t be discouraged! I’ve heard somewhere that a recruited athletes have to apply ED to be strong applicants. Are you and your parents OK with applying ED? (emotionally or financially) If so, I think you have a good chance.

Please help!

If you’re being recruited by coaches, they would have already asked you for your grades and stats and would have a sense of where you stand. You should be communicating with them not people on CC. If you don’t have full support from a coach(es), your grades and scores will be low for Ivy caliber schools. Good luck.
