What are my chances?

Now, I am an international student who has graduated from both middle school and high school in the US.

I am a student at St. John’s University, Jamaica, New York, business management major, looking forward to transferring to New York University and hoping to major East Asian Studies.

I, so far, completed 3 semesters at current university and got 3.85 GPA.

But, I am not convinced by people who call themselves experts in consulting. They told me that I need to retake the SAT.

(As one can guess, I am writing this inquiry because I am not getting dream score.

IS retaking SAT really matter?

If not so, what else do I need to submit other than GPA that I am a competitive and dedicated student?

And what’s my chance of getting into NYU?

Thanks.

Maybe you should first tell us what you got on your SAT?

Hi, @RicketMan1256.
Thanks for the reply.

I took ACT when I was in high school about 3 years ago which is considered a bad in terms of NYU’s competitive candidates and got rejected from undergraduate, so I will not likely to submit that score I am holding.

Because of a poor grade on a standardized test in the past, studying for the purpose of retaking SAT and hoping to get a good grade sounded plausible, however, I am not getting the dream score, so I’m looking to see if I have a chance to get into NYU without submitting the score.
