Hi there,
Take a look if you would and tell me what my chances for UGA are. What other schools would you suggest I apply to? Thanks a lot !!!

Rising senior
Ethnicity: Asian
Residing in the States for 11 months

SAT: 570 CR - 600 MT - 680 WR
GPA: 3.92
Dual Enrollment: Summer session: 7 credit hours (expecting A's on both courses)

I planned on taking AP Cal BC and AP US Gov next year but Dual Enrollment has worked well for me so I'm a lil bit uncertain. I wanna earn more college credits. If I can get 5.0 on those AP classes and raise my GPA, will it be more preferable than taking many college courses with 4.0? I figure I can do well in class but not so well on tests :-S

Since you are an international student and not Georgia in-state, it will be much harder to get into many schools. Luckily UGA doesn't have a large asian population, so you'll be considered an underepresented minority. Take the ACT and do well or get your verbal score up, and I can confidently say, if you can write a coherent essay, you will gain accepltance into UGA.

As for suggesting other schools...if you want to stay in or near Georgia, I'd recommend Emory (only if you get your SATS higher up to atleast a 1330 old). I'd also definitely recommend Oxford College of Emory University where you attend Oxford for 2 years and graduate from Emory after 2 more years. You can doubt get in there.

I would also say apply to Georgia Tech if your intrested. Eventhough you are an international student, which has a pretty large representation at Tech, I've found that Tech is a little easier to gain admission into than UGA just because UGA has a much larger applicant pool.

Your GPA is fine now, so getting ap credit (5.0) or regular college 4.0 credit doesn't matter much. But if you get a 5 on your Calc BC or AP US History test AP Test in May, you will get more college credit at UGA than taking the same class at another college for dual enrollment. However, If you get a 4 or a 3 on the AP Test you will get the same amount of credit as if you took it at another college for dual enrollment.

Also, where are you doing dual enrollment? GPC?

Thanks for answering! Yes, I'm doing dual enrollment at GPC. I've just got my U.S. citizenship last month. Does it make any difference?

Tech is easier to get into...if you are a girl. But if you are an asian male its much more difficult. I know at least 5 asian male from my school that got into UGA and rejected from Tech last year. UGA has more applicants but generally UGA also has more spaces and the applicants are not as qualified(although that is changing). I think you are fine for UGA, and actually since you are out of state it actually helps your chances. If you are willing to pay full price, you are accepted to UGA.
