What are my chances?

GPA - 4.0 unweighted .... 4.15 weighted <-- could change (got to get my report card fixed)

Rank - I don't know but I do know there are 170 students in my grade and a rank of a 4.0 weighted would put you at the rank of....like 20-25..so hopefully in the top 10%.

SAT I - 1280 (M+V)

EC -

Basketball (9-11) - Don't Plan on doing this next year.
Jazz Band (9-12)
Pep Band (9-11) - Not so sure I'll be in band next year, maybe I'll do choir
Piano Accompianist (9-12)
Tutoring high school and college students (9-12)
I've been playing piano for 12 years and flute for 7 and oboe for 2
Tri-M (honor music society) (9-12)
NHS (10-12)
Church Youth Ministery Vice President (11-12)

I've also participated in many events for fundraising for North Korea, I'm also trying to help sponsor a "LINK" program at my school to help North Koreans. I've also done things like volunteered to play the piano at many different events like special olympics, dubtante balls, ect. I've also done things like raise money for scholarships for people whose parents died in Iraq by doing 5km walk and face painting.

I volunteer tutor for about 4 hours a week and volunteer to play the piano for my church for about 4 hours a week as well.

Work Experience

My schedule for next year will be about the following, not quite sure yet.
1. AP US Govt
2. AP Calc AB
3. AP Lit
4. AP Physics
5. Health Care survices
6. Business Management
7. Band/Choir (playing piano, flute or oboe for band haven't decided)
8. Spanish IV

I'd say you have an excellent chance of admission (instate + GPA), and if you get your SATs up a bit (say, 50-100 points or so), you're in the running for Scholars or Honors.

I'm actually hoping to retake the SATs...UMD is my second choice...but my first choice for college is definetly a reach...a BIG reach, unless I get my SAT scores up.

Even with your SAT scores you're fine. I got into the scholars program with a combined verbal and math of 1300. Plus your extra's are unique and you show dedication to what you do.

koreagurl........your annoying, your already in.
