The thing is, I applied the last day, FEbruary 1st. I know that decreases my chances alot.
--please let me know what you think. I"m really nervous and don't think i'll get in.

If you know that applying to Michigan late hurts your chances, why did you wait so long to apply? It only takes a couple of hours to fill Michigan's application form.

At any rate, if your GPA is unweighed, I'd say your chances are good. Keep us posted.

Honestly, I just got lazy. I spent so much time on my other applications that by January 1st I was gladd they were "done with" and just kept pushing it off. Guess I"ll face the consequences later...

I would not worry too much about the concequences. I think your chances are quite good. But I am not sure Michigan is so high on your list. You would have applied earlier if Michigan was a favorite. And since Michigan is not one of your top choices, why are you so nervous?

actually, i know a couple of people with 1400s who got deferred until april or something....so it's quite uncertain ...but it's just kind of weird because my application was complete as of February 28 but I haven't received word yet. THis can't be a good sign

ur in, dont worry unless the whole applyin late really hurt u. i got in with a 3.7, 1180, 28 lol out of state too from a competitve private school

You should have absolutely no problem getting into Umich with those stats. I put off my applicaton too. Like I'd submited it online by 2/2 but they didn't even have everything processed until 2/15 and I was still admitted. I'm pretty sure that you'll make Umich and a bunch of other competitive schools with those stats, don't sweat it, especially if you're coming from one of the specialized high schools. I'm guessing you go to Stuy or Hunter?

It's been a little over two weeks. It's not a sign of ANYTHING. They got a big rush of last-minute apps, all of which have recently been completed and are ready for evaluation. You need three readers to review it all. I'm surprised you were expecting to hear before now.

Yea, I definitely know what you mean, I was pretty worried about that myself. I go to Francis Lewis, just an average public school in Queens. I think most if not all NYC public schools have that policy cause they limited my class to basically 5 privates, 1 cuny app, and 1 suny app. I didn't care though, I think I applied to a total of eleven schools and they just let it slide.

its weird though, my friends who submitted at the same time i did received their letters like yesterday or today. But i still haven't heard and I"m going on vaca tommorrow so ....

Calico, if that's the case, I'm sure you'll be hearing from Umich within a week from now if not earlier. The hardest part is waiting, I know how painful that is, heh. Astrid, that's interesting, have you decided on going to U Mich? I'm still waiting on some other schools before I make up my mind, but U Mich is no doubt at the top of my list, I'm just waiting to get my financial aid.
