<p>You have a very good chance, esp since you're latina too! I'm attending LA in the fall and considering that I'm asian I thought I was at a disadvantage since 40% are asian haha. I don't know if its necessary to explain your encounter with depression since I've heard that they receive a lot of essays about it. Unless you have a doctor's diagnosis, etc. But overall you have a VERY good shot of getting in. Good luck!</p>

<p>I'd say over an 80% chance. Very, very good resume of ECs, good test scores and GPA, especially with the explanation of the first two years of high school. Hopefully you have a couple of 750 or higher SAT Subject Tests.</p>

<p>^The UCs do not consider race as a factor.</p>

<p>they won't give u disadvantage because of it, but it will help u if their schools or programs has very few people of your race.</p>
