What are my chances...?

I'm applying to a variety of schools for 9th grade (2009-2010), like Andover, Exeter, Deerfield, Hotchkiss, Choate, etc..., but what are my chances for a school like Exeter?

SSAT- haven't taken them, but in 7th grade I did once and got a 98th percentile

Grades-
French: A
English: A
Science: A
Social Studies: A
Math: A+

EC's- Vice President of School, got discounts at various restaurants near school for students, organized various fundraisers that totaled $6,000, book drives, coat drives, food drives, coat drives... you know what I mean, haha.

-I dance 8 hrs a week: ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, and modern.

-I'm on the speech team and I've placed 4th honors, 2nd honors, and 1st honors at tournaments.

-I play the piano 8.5 hrs a week, at National Guild Auditions I have placed in the top-talent circle (highest rank).

-I teach Chinese kids English during the summer and do martial arts and tai chi (practice 18 hrs a week for 2 months), which at international competitions have placed 1st three times (does 6th grade count??).

-I do musical theatre, most recent Patty Simcox from Grease, and Maria from West Side Story. I volunteer at the nursing home 1 hr per week, and children's hopital 1 hr a week.

So... what should I add to my resumee or do to increase my chances? Thanks!

looks like a solid resumee, i'd say you're chances are pretty decent, but it's impossible to tell. be careful about adding random stuff just for your application, the admission people can see through that. just be sure to do well on your interview and your essays, those are important! best of luck.

Your resume looks good. I agree with NellyR, essays and interview will be important as most students will have equally impressive resumes. You seem to be the Artsy type so you may want to consider schools like Concord Academy as well. I wish you well in your future endeavors.

By the way, how did any or your interviews go?

great resume, mine wasn't half as good as that yet I got accepted to andover :)

rippedpaper, what year are you going to be in?

It sounds really good but it's hard to tell it's a surprise sometimes. Good luck! :]

No way was I as qualified as you. And I got into Andover as well, so don't worry! And as for adding stuff to your resume, don't! It's perfect the way it is and you should only do things you're genuinely passionate about.

Good luck and all your ECs look very deep etc.

What math are you taking for 8th grade?

Mdog you chickened out! Don't post on here anymore LOL joking hehe

haha be quiet, i actually really liked kent, but my day school i liked more. If I don't like the school I go to, I'm applying for 10th to boarding school with more of a choice on where to go.

Wait you didn't get into kent?

Remember that since you took the SSAT in 7th grade, it was probably the lower level. The upper level test is significantly harder. But, with that high of a score, I wouldn't worry too much.

Aussie: Yeah they offered me admission once I applyed.

are you applying for financial aid?

What was your resume like?

What math class are you taking???

For me, I'm not sure about FA... My parents say that they can support me, and their top priority is for me to get in. I was thinking about applying for FA for all the need blind schools, and no FA for the rest. How does that sound?? :)

wow,
lollipopluvr
im thinking about applying for these schools too.
youre so prepared adn ure ec's are great.
how do you juggle everything?

Wow, im so flattered, fah12612!! Honestly, I love everything I do, so passion is a big part of it, and so is making up my own time to do stuff. Like, on Tuesdays my ballet classes go from 2:30-4:00, and from 6:30-8:30, and I get home at 9:00, without much time for homework, but I try to use up the time I do have and be as productive as possible. Of course I'm not perfect, so sometimes I end up having to type up a paper late at night and sleeping at 11:00. :P Juggling everything isn't terribly hard i guess, it's just really important to plan your time well. :)
