what are my chances?

Just looking for opinions on what people think. I am looking to get into UT's engineering school (most likely petroleum engineering)

GPA: 4.0 out of a possible 4.5
SAT: 1980, 750 math and 590 critical reading
class rank: 26%, maybe 25% now
4 year varsity swimmer (regional qualifier)
3-4 clubs
150+ volunteer hours

any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

btw this is in state.

I would say slim chance...People say applying as a non top 10% is extremely difficult..maybe similar to applying to an ivy league

^-- Just wrong, its not even close to being that hard... Your chances are still slim, but its not as hard as getting into an IVY by a long shot. I got in to Engineering with a 1380(590 CR and 790 M) SAT and 32 ACT, with top 14% with essentially no ECs. You wouldn't happen to be a minority(anything that's not white or asian)?

thanks for the replies guys, I really appreciate it.

foxshox: no, i'm asian unfortunately.

we'll see what happens
