Kind of early to tell, but so far so good. But if I can offer any advice, it is DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO CHANCE THREADS! Really, it’s so subjective that you’re just stressing yourself out by going to random people on the internet for advice. I mean, some of the advice is good, but in the end we dont know ****.

As an out of stater, while it may be too early to tell, it will be hard. Definitely try and raise your SAT when you actually take the real one, and keep working on the GPA! Your courses looks good (do you have a language?) and the AP credit will really help!

And the above poster has a large degree of truth to what he says.

College admission is so unpredictable. I know multiple students with 4.0 who did not get in wo William and Mary and one with a 3.2 who did. I would recommend taking a rigorousness course load your senior year including calculus or the highest math available. Good luck!

Agree with soccerlover and capslock. The college selection process has become as close to random as it can be. It seems like admissions has come down if it is or isn’t your day. Hopefully it is your day when they read your application.

The SAT would be your biggest challenge. It needs to be higher than 1760, hands down. Now, no matter what, just stand out as best you can.

Write engaging well-thought out essays with unique takes on topics. Get great recommendations. All of it counts.

But if you’re on par with their average accepted student…and they have 300 others exactly like you statistically, then the ones that get picked will be the ones they like the most from the other parts of the application.

Get a 31+ act or 2100+ sat and keep up your grades and you should be fine (or so I hope because I’m an oos male too and I have a 33 act but only a 3.5 gpa!, 9 aps and college classes though).
