Hi,
I am currently going to eight grade in a public school in NJ, and I would like to know if i could make it to any of these three schools:
Lawrenceville
Exeter
Andover

For seventh grade, these were my final grades:
Algrebra 1: A
Spanish: A+
English: A+
History: A
For the 1st marking period of eighth grade, I'll probably get 2 or more A+s for the first marking period, but I'll work hard to get straight A+s in the core subjects.

I have been playing golf for 3 years and I think I would be able to make it to the varsity team.
I got a medal for the science fair for every year I was in it (top 10% of projects) and I won one special award for the science fair.
I will have really good recs
I will have a decent essay.
I am a student council representative
I am in the Computer/Robotics club.
I am in brain bowl, we won the state competition last year 20th national.
I will be in wordmasters in eight grade, we competed in that as well, I am unaware of how we did however.
I am in the Spanish club.
I might join the Service club in eight grade.
I am in the forensics club.
I am in the yearbook club.

I played soccer 3 years(rec)
I played basketball 2 years(rec)

And thats pretty much it :/

If possible could you format the answers like this:

You have amazing stats. Exeter and Andover are reaches because they are reaches for everybody, but you are exactly what these schools are looker for. I’d say you have a really good chance with Lawrenceville I’m pretty sure its slightly less selective than PA and PEA.

I’d say that you are a match for all three. You have more/better ec’s then I do and I got accepted into Andover. I think it’s an easy acceptance for you.

Wow, you’ve got amazing stats.
But don’t take that for granted.
Work hard on your essays and do well on your interviews!
I think you’ve got a great chance.

Don’t let that bother you.
Before my acceptance to a school that I think is on par with the ones that you are applying to, my interviewer called my home and my mom yelled at her thinking that it was someone else. I thought that she had ruined my chances, but I was still accepted.
Worry about the things that you can control, such as your essays.
Good luck!!!

Just be yourself.
I know that’s such a cliche, but it really works.
During my interviews, I talked to my interviewers by showing off my real personality.
Not some super duper polite, scared/worried, uptight applicant.
I made jokes and told stories.
Sure, I was definitely nervous…
Oh, and when they ask you questions, try not to just answer “yes” or “no”. Specify your answers!
Like if they ask you, do you do any community service? Don’t just say yes, go into detail about what you do, why you did it, what you like about it, etc.

I agree. The interview seemed like the easiest part of the application process. It was a nice conversation. And I had an off campus interview, so we had lunch at a really good restaurant XD.
Yay food!!!

Thanks, I have chosen deerfield, and scheduled my interview today. Also, I got these SSAT scores for a Princeton Review practice test:
Math: 800
Reading: 760
Verbal: 770

Overall: 2330 (98th or 99th %ile)

But, my dilemma is that some say the Princeton Review practice tests are easier than they should be.

@ CCer: I find that they are, but not too much. However, the percentiles indicating where you are are inaccurate (percentiles are higher than they should be, compared to the real test). But with a 98/99, I’d still be confident that your score would end up in the 90s so I wouldn’t worry too much. SSATs don’t matter all that much.
