Hey guys, this is my first time hear on CC and i wanted to get some feedback on my current situation.

I was wondering about my current chance of getting accepted into UM.

My Stats

-Junior HS
-3.677 GPA (Weighted)
-26 ACT
-Taken 1 AP class (sophomore year)
-EC - Don't have much sports/athletics under my belt except for a little community service.
-I'm currently taking 2 AP classes, Gov and Chem, and taking 4 more senior year.
-Ive been in accelerated/advanced math since the 6th grade

Others
-Lebanese citizen, i was born here but i vacation there frequently.
-Speak Arabic
-Lots of computer skills and basic self taught programing (Operated/Owned an online game with many players)

I know my background isn't too out of the ordinary, but i was wondering what i can do to improve my chances at this state. There is only one more Act test i can take this year if i want to apply before EA deadlines. I am majoring in the medical field (don't know where exactly yet). Btw this is in-state.

Thanks for reading this and be honest in every post!

unless you raise your ACT score above a 28, I don’t see much of a chance. I had many friends that got rejected with 27s, and 28s who had better GPAs than you, more APs, and quite extensive ECs.

The GPA makes U-M a big reach. The ACT does nothing to help. I would focus on bringing the GPA up and think about taking ACT again in June and/or September.

Yea I think Michigan is a big reach because on top of the low GPA and test score, you have no EC’s. I would still apply and see what happens. Nowadays admission is so erratic that you don’t know what might happen. Admissions is getting competitive every year now and I think being Lebanese puts you at URM status though.

Work on improving either your ACT or GPA (both to be certain), get more ECs next year, and start working on the essays now if you already haven’t.
