What are my ECs saying?

Last year, all of the activities I did were to impress colleges so that I can get into an Ivy. I’ve been trying to get out of that mindset, drop the activities I really don’t care for. I’m a junior in high school right now and I’ll be applying to colleges soon, so it’s not like I can change my ECs now. I really love making videos and the exploring outdoors and hope to major in environmental science, and I was wondering if it still looks like I’m trying too hard like it did a year ago.
Sports:
Tennis for 2 years, quit this year for unified track, but might go back senior year
Captain of JV field hockey and captain of my freshman team (I suck at fhockey though :)) )

Clubs:
Adventure Club
Arts & Crafts Club founder (I frickin love to tie dye)
Captain of the Math Team
Science Olympiad

Other Stuff:
National, Math, Science Honor Societies
Walk dogs at the animal shelter
I worked as a teacher at a math school but I quit sophomore year because the bosses were awful
3rd place at the GITW Film Festival in Green IS category
I entered the March for Science video contest too but I think I lost haha
3rd place at Science Olympiad states- Disease Detectives
I also got accepted into the Dartmouth Health Careers summer camp 2017

Wow just typing that makes me feel like a force but I really love participating in every one of these, so I don’t really know. X_X
It also kind of looks like I quit everything, which kind of sucks. Pls help??

You are definitely on the right track. Your EC’s say many good things about you. You have interesting talents and strong interests, and seem to have been listening to the beat of your own drum, even though you said you weren’t. I think colleges will be very impressed with you. Do not view things that you did for a fixed period as “dropped”. Many kids try a variety of things to find out what interests them most. If that Health Careers summer camp leads to doing some kind of research, that would really complete the picture nicely.

First of all, congrats on realizing that you were on a hamster wheel admissions frenzy.

Is there a way to bring the math tutoring back around by helping elementary or homeless kids with their homework?

Or could you make some videos for local small non profits that don’t have a budget for creating content for their webpages?

Does the shelter make quick videos of the animals that have been hard to place?

Find a way to circle back to an activity and bring it out into the community.
