What are my ED chances

Hi,
I am in love with Vandy and applying ED 1 there. It is the only school I am applying ED, but I do not think I have a good or even okay chance of getting in. My stats are as follows:
Unweighted GPA: 3.46
Weighted GPA: 4.02
I have taken at least 3 honors/ap classes since my freshman year. I will come out with 5 ap classes, and around 10 honors or so. Freshman year was by far my worst year with a GPA of 3.3, but I got it up to around a 3.7 sophomore and junior year which I heard VU really looks at. I am not sure how VU will look at my GPA, because my weighted is okay, but my unweighted is bad. My school does not rank, submits both GPA’s, and almost everyone(96%) goes to a 4 yr college.
SAT: 670 English
780 Math
1450 total. Over two test dates, therefore it is a composite score. VU is the only school I know that will superscore SAT, but VU will not superscore ACT. Is my SAT expected to be higher than their average ACT or what does this mean.
Also, I plan on applying as a bio major, because I received an A- in Honor bio sphmore yr and am currently a senior teacher. My essays are pretty compelling, and I have already spent hours on them with more to go.
My EC are stellar:
4 years on Student Congress, leader for jr and senior as well as state team since sophomore yr
4 years on business club, qualified for state freshman year
4 years on track
2 years on student council(Fr + Soph)
2 years on Model UN(Jr + Sr)
Over 70 hrs of volunteer work at library + their teen advisory board for 4 years
Also job for 2 years

Can anyone give me a good idea of my chances? Any help appreciated

Don’t miss any Vandy scholarship application deadlines. Your volunteer work gives you a chance at the Ingram Scholarship and your part time job make you a candidate for the Carrell Family Scholarship. You have leadership experience. “I plan on applying as a bio major because i received an A- in Honor bio sophomore year.” This is not a compelling reason to apply as a bio major. Not sure that Vandy even requires you to even state a major as an applicant (though you can talk about it in your essay). What is more important is what school you are applying to: Arts and Science (includes bio), Peabody (teaching), the engineering school, or Blair School of Music. You did some teaching or tutoring of biology so consider applying to Peabody if you want to be a teacher. It may be easier to get into Vandy that way given your senior teaching experience. But don’t do that if a teaching degree does not appeal to you! A degree from the College of Arts and Science will give you a traditional liberal arts degree. Weave your student congress, Model UN and teaching experience into your application to demonstrate your leadership. If possible, retake SAT and try hit 700 for your English score. An ED application is a boost. Visit and take the official tour and info session if you can. Good luck!

Unfortunately, I took my last opportunity to take the SAT and that will be my final score. And, biology was a thought. I will not write that in my essay, and I am not set on any major right now. Thnx for reply btw

@plleaseaccept, perhaps your high school is not offering the SAT again this year. However, I am pretty sure you can find another location to take the SAT if you thought you could improve your score. In any event good luck with your application!

The above is correct. You can still take the Oct. 6th SAT in time for EDI (see the first line of the link below):

https://admissions.vanderbilt.edu/dates/

You can also still sign up for this admission of the SAT (it’s “late registration” so you’ll have to pay extra, but you can still sign up).

Solid chances overall, but you could give the SAT another shot to give yourself a bit more breathing room. Super scoring really works in your favor here; you can literally just study for the english if you decide to retake. If you spend the next 3 weeks pounding practice questions, there’s a very considerable chance that you could bump your score. You’re definitely not sunk if you decide not to take it, but it could also help pretty well.

thank you so much. I will look into it and see if it’s feasible for me based on other commitments
