Hi,
I was wondering what my chances would be if
my stat is 4.0UW gpa
35 ACT(superscored, since i heard washu superscores act)
800 SAT2 math 2c, 770 sat2 chem, 760 sat2 bio E
AP bio 5(self study) AP macroecon 4(self study)

us citizen and washu legacy
applying from St. louis area

any reply would be helpful thank you

The RD round will definitely be more difficult than ever this year, but I think you have a GREAT chance in terms of stats! You’re ACT combined with your WashU legacy will probably make you one of the top applicants. Nothing is for sure though: be sure to show interest so your WashU legacy counts as much as possible, and continue to get good grades :). Do you have (good) ECs?

p.s. I got in ED with the same ACT but a MUCH lower gpa. :)

Thanks for the reply
Well I have decent amount of ECs, i think.
I’ll try to show more interest in WashU definitely!
hopefully i might see you at WUSTL next year

@helpplowstats,
I have a pretty high SAT (2200- 750W,670M,780CR) but lower grades (3.93W) (much improved this semester) and my dad is a professor at the Brown School at WUSTL and graduated from there undergrad. Do you think I have a shot? I only ask because you say you were in a similar situation.
Sorry to hijack your thread, nobackdoor.

@aaluke94: whoa really? your dad should help esp since he’s not only an alum but also a professor!
However, based on your stats, I really can’t say. I know you definitely have a shot. But since this RD round is going to be very competitive, with many high gpa, high SAT score kids applying, I’m hesitant to give you an answer.
If I were you (i know this is asking for a lot), I would retake your SAT I in January to raise your math SAT I score. I would have if I were you.
On the other hand, if you already have impressive ECs to make up for it -> these ECs, tripled with your university affiliation and CR score should already put you in somewhat of a good place.
@NoBackDoor and @aaluke94: For me -> my gpa was low, my standarized tests were high, and my ECs were strong (national/regional/state awards in four very different disciplines).

I hope my information/comments help both of you a bit.

Good Luck!

Thanks so much! Just out of curiosity, why is this a highly competitive year?
