I applied to both Stony Brook and Buffalo and I got accepted into both. I am relying on a scholarship because I have to pay out-of-state tuition ( I’m an international student)
I had a SAT score of 1310 (new sat) - 710 math - 620 Reading
High school gpa of 3.7 (unweighted) - 4.0 scale
I took the GCE O-Level exam and got 5a* 1A and 1B
I was a public speaker and I won awards nationally
I was awarded debater of the year in my school
I was a prefect in school
I did volunteer work too
I’ve won lots of awards in drama too (best supporting actress in national level competitions)
So what are my chances at getting a scholarship and if so how much?
Neither of these schools offers need based aid to international students…so if you are looking for that…only private loans which you would need to get…would be available to you.
It looks like both offer merit scholarships to international students…but it’s very hard to predict just how much you will get, if anything.
If you have already been accepted, you should be receiving a scholarship award soon if you are going to get one. So check your online portals to see if you have.
I’ll stick my neck out and say…I don’t think you will get a free ride. Can your parents pay anything?
@sybbie719 your thoughts!
You will most likely be full pay at both of these schools. Unfortunately your grades and scores are not in the range for the honors college.
