What are some good apartments?

Just found out I'll be getting enough FA to move to AA and I'm planning on driving over and looking for apartments in a couple days. Any suggestions? Preferably close to Central Campus. I've been referred to the University Towers (??) by my friend's brother, anybody have an opinion?

About me:

-I'm 21 so an area with nice bars would be nice
-I have my medical mary jane card so a dispensary somewhat close would be cool (not really important at all, would just be a +)
-My son will be living with me ~ 1/2 of the time so I may have to look for an apartment with two rooms or a one bedroom with some kind of other room that's good enough for a 2 year old? haha
-I don't know many people in AA so being around a pretty social/friendly area would be nice
-This is about bars again and is also just another + tops... I'd like the apartments to be easily accessible by the buses or any other form of transportation not including me driving my car. No way in hell am I gonna try drinking and driving and I'd like it if I didn't end up renting out an apartment that makes me walk a mile every night I get out of the bar.

Basically, I'd like to live right next to the action (nightlife)... but studying will be my first priority so if there's an apartment complex with thin walls and obnoxious neighbors, let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Most apartments are already booked out. I’d recommend contacting a lot of the apartment leasers (sp?) to see if apartments are even available in their complexes, and I’d look for a 1 bedroom if I were you. A2’s pretty lively so I wouldn’t worry about location all that much (most of the city’s pretty upbeat).

Well the only one bedroom I could find is in the University Towers so I’ll probably end up there haha… Anybody from the area know of any other places? When should I start looking for apartments for the next year?

Here’s where I found my off-campus housing (studio for $640) for next year:
[UM Off-Campus Housing Tenants & Landlords](http://www.offcampus.housing.umich.edu/lt/housing_listings.cfm)

Students usually sign as early as November/December.

Thanks for the link… the only thing that worries me about renting out space in a house is the fact that I have a 2 year old son. I don’t want to bug the other people living there with the sound of a (although it’s actually pretty rare) fussy baby. I could just say **** em, but I’d hate to rent out a house for college and end up having to hear a baby cry whenever he wakes up… also, if a roomy has loud friends or is stupid with drugs that wouldn’t be a good thing to have a kid around obviously ha
