I am a high school senior and I am currently working on finishing my list of colleges. What schools would be the best to apply with 3.5 GPA and 1200 SAT that have good business programs? I am also from Russia, but a permanent US resident. I am thinking to apply to Fordham and Babson, which are both reaches, and I certainly do need more schools on my list. Any suggestions? Thank You!
I’m also retaking the SAT this weekend.
Take a look at Bryant, Bentley, Providence College, Southern Methodist University.
Try the supermatch function on the left.
Also do you have any financial restrictions?
Some other ideas offhand (in addition to the ones above) might be Loyola MD, Fairfield, SUNY Binghamton (may be a bit of a reach), SUNY Buffalo, SUNY New Paltz, Marist, TCNJ,
Syracuse.
The supermatch suggests any colleges that have my major, but I’m not exactly sure which ones have better programs. I don’t believe I have any financial restrictions, although my family is middle class, so we can’t afford much either.
Thank you for your help.
Try UNC Wilmington. Great business school. Would be a match for you.
Manhattan College?
Indiana University. Top 10 Undergrad Business Program by most rankings.
While your stats aren’t quite high enough to be a direct admit to the Kelley School of Business. If you get all A’s and B’s in your Freshman year you are likely to get admitted to Kelley at the beginning of your Sophomore year. Although they do look at extracurricular activities, community service, and any work experience.
one of the toped ranked b programs in the country is TCNJ. Bloomberg ranked it this year as #34 in the entire country.
When you consider the small class size, and personal attention plus the costs it is one of the best opportunities in the tristate area. plus it is known for recruiting, and kids going on to top grad programs. Also a top 20 accounting program.
Bloomberg’s rankings are discontinued, so take those with a HUGE grain of salt.
Definitely apply to Babson. They have a great MBA program, and a massive international population. If you are at all interested in business/entrepeneurship, I’d consider working hard on your essay and possibly taking the SAT again to improve.
?? How does that work?
What is your home state?
Well though we’re not poor, we still wouldn’t be able to afford 60K a year, for example. So I do need financial aid. My home state is NY.
Wait and see what your new SAT score is and then rework your list.
Yeah that’s what I’m planning to do, hopefully my score will go up and I will have more choices and better chances for admission.
Kelley Indianapolis (at IUPUI) hands down. 96% placement, awesome urban campus. And a campus of one of the top Business schools in the country.
At least apply.
My new SAT score is 1240 which doesn’t really change much.
I’m also taking TOEFL for the first time on Saturday.
