i'm interesting in transferring for mechanical engineering. what are some good engr schools in urban locations? please submit some reasonable matches for a 1380 SAT, 6/370 class rank, 4.0 after first semester in college, and unimpressive extracurriculars.
thanks!

bump! please help

I know of many good engineering schools in urban locations, but I'm not sure how well you would fare in applying to the ones I know of . . . And also, if you're not sure about what school you want to transfer to, and you just want to transfer, you should probably really try to pick one out and find a good reason for leaving the school you're at now, because I hear that otherwise you will not do well in the admissions process, because most schools accept transfer applicants that are not only qualified but can show good cause for wanting to transfer. I myself know exactly where I want to transfer to and why, and such a thing may really help you out, especially in writing your "Why I Want To Transfer" essay.

By the way, besides for your first semester college GPA, your stats seem to be sort of like mine . . . Where are you at now?

i'm currently at clemson university in south carolina. accepted to tulane and georgia tech but chose clemson due to financial reasons.

right now i'm looking to transfer to georgia tech and penn. penn is my number one choice b/c i love art and engineering, and they have a product design emphasis in their mechanical engineering degree. perfect!

i have to admit i'm looking into other schools as alternatives to rejections at penn. i will probably get in georgia tech but i would like several options when i'm making my decision.

I'm as well thinking of transfer to a reputable engineering school. Narrowed down to berkeley stanford and cornell considering prestige (my family, I guess I do too, look really hard on that) and an overall quality other than JUST engineering since I'm not yet that sure. But i guess cornell is probably the only shot I would have if any since I'm a freshman and my hs record isn't anywhere near for the previous two, plus im out of state for berkeley. If i don't get in cornell this year (or don't get enough aid), I'm applying to all three next year.
