I am looking for some merit based scholarships. I have already gotten an out of state tuition waiver but the dorm, meal plan, books, and in-state tuition are still very expensive. Please let me know if you are aware of any merit based scholarships for students studying in an Engineering Major in the state of Georgia. I am attending college this summer as a freshmen and will continue into the fall. Thanks for all help.

I think you’re going to an unaffordable school.

If I understand your prior posts…

you want to be pre-med, right?

And…you’re going to a lower tier OOS school and then hopefully transfer to Georgia Tech?

This doesn’t sound like a good plan. How are you going to pay for GT as an OOS student?

If you want to go to med school, you need to minimize cost/debt for undergrad.

Thank your very much for your reply. I think you have misunderstand my situation. Basically I am in the Engineering Alliance program and I have to go to Armstrong Atlantic State University for the first two years (it is possible to transfer even earlier), then go to Georgia Tech in Atlanta for the next two. It is not really a transfer it is guaranteed. For now I am paying in-state tuition but I know Georgia Tech is very expensive even if I do receive in-state. That was why I was wondering if there were any scholarships. So this way I don’t have to transfer, I am just guaranteed after I finish the basics at AASU. Again thank you for the reply. I really do appreciate your time.

Also about my major, I might do med school but right now I am doing Engineering, I will make the decision in the future. And yes either way I plan to go to grad school so I do need to minimize cost.

What is the deal with GT? Have you asked them if you’ll be paying instate or OOS?

if they tell you that you will be paying OOS, then why would you do this whole plan?

What state are you in?

How are you paying for college?
