What are some public colleges/universities that are free to apply to?

Hey, I was just wondering if you guys could post the names of some public colleges/universities that you know that are free to apply to or that offer fee waivers for low-income students?

PS No, I am NOT basing my college list on colleges that are free to apply to; I just want to have as many options as possible.

[This list is a few years old but it should still be fairly accurate.](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/444532-list-colleges-free-apply.html)

I thought that most colleges gave waivers to low-income students.

Other than that, many colleges waive fees at certain times or for certain people. For example, during “college application week” many NC colleges waive fees for students applying through CFNC (our state’s version of the Common App). Also, some colleges waive fees and expedite applications for students with high test scores and/or GPAs. If you are interested in a specific college, check with that college to see if they will waive the fee for you or if there is a date on which they will waive it for everyone.

Public schools will expect most OOS students to pay high OOS tuition. If you’re low income it will not help you to submit an app to a school where you would be full pay. What is your home state?
