What are some things CC has taught you?

1) “Ivies are reaches for everyone”
2) Self-studying APs is normal and encouraged
3) Affirmative action exists and is ridiculous
4) Everyone gets a likely letter
5) Everyone someone does science research
6) Everyone lives in NY, NJ, or CA
7) What prep books are best
8) I am simply not good enough

@CORVIDS. Yes.

People know who the All Blacks are!

This site has taught me many things, with the most important being that going to an Ivy League isn’t worth it primarily because the people that apply/attend there are egotistical pricks.
And for some wonderful and encouraging advice…
2.) Since I’m not good at math, or haven’t done some kind of prestigious science research, then I’m worthless to the Ivies, so I might as well give up now.
3.) My best is never enough.
4.) If my SAT/ACT score isn’t sky high, then I’m definitely not smart so I’ll probably end up at a Community College.

Some of you guys remind me of Sheldon Cooper, and I’m not talking about his smarts, but about his attitude; and I’d have to say that he is the most irritating character in television history.

I first became incredibly depressed as I was always “the smart one” then learned to swallow sadness and feelings of mediocrity. I still think I’ll end up killing myself by the time I’m 40, though.

No matter how hard I try, a person of equal or slightly worse merit with URM status will always be more valuable than I am to colleges.

You also learn these things at Caltech, or probably any other top-tier school.
